Description	:	Tommy Poston FLORENCE - Mr. Tommy "Pete" Poston, 67, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 22nd, 2010 in McLeod Hospice House after a long illness. Mr. Poston was born in Coward on September 20th, 1942. He was a son of the late Lloyd Poston and the late Rebecca Matthews Poston and was a widower of the late Virginia Kirby Poston. Mr. Poston worked as a meat-cutter for Piggly Wiggly, worked with Florence County Public Works as a Grade Operator, and worked with Dave Medlin Construction. Mr. Poston was born in Coward on September 20th, 1942. He was a son of the late Lloyd Poston and the late Rebecca Matthews Poston and was a widower of the late Virginia Kirby Poston. Mr. Poston worked as a meat-cutter for Piggly Wiggly, worked with Florence County Public Works as a Grade Operator, and worked with Dave Medlin Construction. Mr. Poston's surviving family includes his five children, Lynn Miles (Jimmy) of Lake City, Sherry Smothers of Weaverville, North Carolina, Karen Smith (Leland) of Flor-ence; Stevie Poston (Melissa) of Florence, and Michelle Marlow (Benjie) of Johnsonville; his sister, Willa Mae Lupo of Florence; fourteen grandchildren; seven great-grand-children; his special friend and caregiver, Michelle Rallings of Florence; and his special friend and mother of his children, Lena Biernacki Perry of Barnardsville, North Carolina. Mr. Poston is preceded in death by his siblings, Legrande Poston, Doris Poston, and Lessie Mae Rhames. The family of Mr. Poston will have visitation from six until eight o'clock p.m., Friday, July 23rd, 2010 in the Beulah Free Will Baptist Church. Funeral services for Mr. Poston will be held at eleven o'clock a.m., Saturday, July 24th, 2010 in the Beulah Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice House, 1203 East Cheves Street, Florence, South Carolina 29506. Brockington Funeral Home, Lake City, is in charge.
