Description	:	Tony was born in Wahoo, NE to Anton & Rose Lilly (Svoboda) Vrchota. He spent his very early years in the Linwood area and the remainder of his youth at the St. Thomas Orphanage in Lincoln. Tony was drafted to the US Army August 21, 1943 for service in the WWII Invasion of Europe in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland & Central Europe. Read More	Tony was born in Wahoo, NE to Anton & Rose Lilly (Svoboda) Vrchota. He spent his very early years in the Linwood area and the remainder of his youth at the St. Thomas Orphanage in Lincoln. Tony was drafted to the US Army August 21, 1943 for service in the WWII Invasion of Europe in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland & Central Europe. Tony was honorably discharged January 1946 and returned to Lincoln & was always very proud of his military service. He met his future wife in Appleton, NE at a Sunday night dance. Tony & Rita were married March 8, 1947 and raised their family in Lincoln. Tony learned his cabinetmaker/carpenter skills at Milford Trade School & worked in this field until his visual impairment changed his occupation to raising their children and managing the home full time. Rita worked outside the home for 35 years until her retirement when they built their dream home on an acreage near Denton. Tony continued to use his trade school skills in spite of his vision loss and impressed everyone with his abilities to do almost anything. Tony is survived by his wife, Rita; daughters & son-in-law, Pat & Tom McGinty, Rose Westerlund & Terri Vrchota all of Lincoln; sons & daughters-in-law, Mike & Mary Vrchota of Lincoln & Tom "TJ" & Charla Vrchota of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Lori Vrchota, Lisa & Tim Morfeld, Tim & Liz Vrchota, Katy Vrchota, Tony & Danielle Vrchota; great grandchildren, Emma, Tatumn & Tucker and sister, Dorothy Stransky and Nieces & Nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Susan Marie; sisters, Rose Dudek, Evelyn Vrchota, Violet Vrchota & Betty Jean Vrchota and brother, Elmer Vrchota. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Denton, NE with Monsignor Mark Huber officiating. Military graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday in Calvary Cemetery, Lincoln.
