Born in Willis, Floyd County, Va. on October 23, 1917, he was a son of the late Oscar Talmund and Sarah Beulah Slusher Miles. For 41 years, he was a faithful and versatile employee of Celanese Corporation of America in Rome, Ga. and Asheville, N. C., retiring from the Celco Plant near Narrows. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Pembroke, of Pembroke American Legion Post 311 and Narrows VFW Post 6000, and a veteran of the U. S.... Read More	Townsend William Moles, 80, of Pembroke, died Monday, January 5, 1998 in Giles Memorial Hospital. Born in Willis, Floyd County, Va. on October 23, 1917, he was a son of the late Oscar Talmund and Sarah Beulah Slusher Miles. For 41 years, he was a faithful and versatile employee of Celanese Corporation of America in Rome, Ga. and Asheville, N. C., retiring from the Celco Plant near Narrows. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Pembroke, of Pembroke American Legion Post 311 and Narrows VFW Post 6000, and a veteran of the U. S. Navy SeaBees during World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Moles and Roy Moles. Surviving are his wife of 59 years. Ethelyne Burnette Moles; two daughters, Rebecca Des Champs of Fincastle, Bonnie Stevens of Chester; a son, Stephen Moles of Ellijay, Ga.; one sister, Vivian Groome of Highland Springs, Va.; six grandchildren, Nikki Des Champs, Douglas Des Champs, Kelly Stevens, Jason Moles, Susan Moles and Mark Moles. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 8, 1998 at 11 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church of Pembroke, with the Rev. J. Max Brown and the Rev. Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the Kendall Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, P. O.
