He was born Jan. 22, 1917, in Augusta County, a son of the late Harry Hamilton and Gertrude Jane (Weeks) Cash. Mr. Cash lived his entire life in the Vesuvius area where he owned and operated Cash's Radio and TV Service for more than 45 years. He was born Jan. 22, 1917, in Augusta County, a son of the late Harry Hamilton and Gertrude Jane (Weeks) Cash. Mr. Cash lived his entire life in the Vesuvius area where he owned and operated Cash's Radio and TV Service for more than 45 years. His favorite pastimes included tinkering with his hands, watching the river and wildlife from his chair under the cedar tree, and waving at the passersby. He was a member of Mount Joy Presbyterian Church since 1939 , where he served as an elder, deacon and trustee. He was also a member of the 5-watt Ridge Runners CB Club. In addition to his wife, whom he married on June 1, 1940, family members include four daughters and two sons-in-law, Phronia Jane Cash of Raphine, Sheila Moneymaker and fiancé, Richard Cohron, both of Stuarts Draft, Judy and Sten Cempe of Raphine, and Juanita and Alan Funk of Staunton; two sisters, Edna (Toad) Painter of Steeles Tavern and Isabelle Cash of Raphine; nine grandchildren, Eugenia Taylor and husband, Randy, Larissa McClaren and husband, James, Sheldon Cash and wife, Stephanie, Geremy Moneymaker, Zachary, Ethan and Shannon Cempe, Allison and Bradley Funk; four great-grandchildren, Hailey and Landon Cash and Matthew and Morgan McClaren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Other special people include Timmy Asbell Jr. and caregivers Darlene Simmons and Nicole Birchfield. He was preceded in death by his son, Tracy (Jake) Cash Jr. in 1969 during Hurricane Camille; a sister Mollie Sorrells, and a brother Charlie Cash. A funeral service will be conducted Friday, Feb 5. at 11 a.m. at Mount Joy Presbyterian Church by Pastors Don Cash and Ray Fitzgerald. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be grandsons and sons-in-law. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Taylor, James McClaren, Richard Cohron, Timmy Asbell Jr., Pat Cash, Kim Moneymaker, Lonnie Cash, Finley Campbell, Richard Brooks, Dickie Bradley, Winfred Ramsey, Steve Boston, Clayton Painter, Roger Hays and other family and friends.
