Carrothers of prairie township, passed away at the family home last Friday morning, following the birth of a son to Mr. and Mrs. Carrothers. The news of the death of Mrs. Carrothers comes as a great shock to the many friends of the family. Brief services were held at the family home Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, and were conducted by the Rev. Mr. Cooper of Greeley. Following the services at the home the remains were taken to the home of her parents, and on Monday afternoon at the Methodist church at two o'clock funeral services were conducted. Burial was made in Greenhill cemetery. Theressie Rebecca Elliott was born in Wright county, April 20th, 1882, and came with her parents to Clayton county, near Edgewood, when she was seven years of age. About eight years ago the family moved to Edgewood. She was united in marriage with Mr. William T. Carrothers June 29th, 1916, and has since her marriage lived in Prairie township. Mrs. Carrothers is survived by her husband, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. I. Wooldridge of Edgewood, one sister, Mrs. Harry Frederick of Edgewood, and three brothers, Clarence Elliott and Irving Wooldridge of Edgewood, and Louis Wooldridge of Volga City. The death of this young woman is a grievous blow to the husband, his brothers, and all who were attached to her by family ties. Mrs. Carrothers filled her place in the Carrothers home with singular fidelity. Since she came into the home she tenderly cared for the aged and crippled mother of her husband, and made home a true abiding place for the two brothers who have lived in the same home. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church of Silver Creek, and also of the Delhi W. R. C. and Rebekah orders. She took an active part in the social and church work of her community, and was beloved by a large circle of friends.
