Description	:	Trientje Krull Services Held Mrs. Trientje Krull of Aplington was born the daughter of Jasper and Margaret Voogd Westerman on July 24, 1884, in Germany. She received her education in Germany and came to the United States at the age of 22 and lived near Grundy Center. On December 14, 1910, Trientje was united in marriage to Ayelt A. Krull in the parsonage of Bethany Presbyterian Church in Grundy Center. They farmed in Grundy county near Stout until March of 1946, when they moved to Parkersburg. Read More	Trientje Krull Services Held Mrs. Trientje Krull of Aplington was born the daughter of Jasper and Margaret Voogd Westerman on July 24, 1884, in Germany. She received her education in Germany and came to the United States at the age of 22 and lived near Grundy Center. On December 14, 1910, Trientje was united in marriage to Ayelt A. Krull in the parsonage of Bethany Presbyterian Church in Grundy Center. They farmed in Grundy county near Stout until March of 1946, when they moved to Parkersburg. Two years later they moved to Aplington. Mrs. Krull resided in Maple Manor Nursing Home in Aplington since September of 1975. She died on December 9, 1983, at 2:30 a.m. in Maple Manor. She had reached the age of 99 years, four months, and 15 days. Trientje was the oldest member of the First Reformed Church in Aplington, and was the oldest person living in Aplington. She was preceded in death by her husband Ayelt, who died on October 22, 1956; one daughter, Dena, Mrs. Andrew Kruger; three grandchildren; and her parents. Trientje is survived by one son, Ayelt A. Krull, Clarksville; five daughters, Margaret, Mrs. Thomas Meester, Holland, Albertha Pauk, Clarksville, Clara, Mrs. Elky DeVries, Grundy Center, Anna, Mrs. Jake Lindaman, Wellsburg, and Trena, Mrs. John J. Schipper of Aplington; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Harmke Saathoff of Stout; and one brother, Jacob Westerman of the Long Term Care Center of the Grundy County Memorial Hospital and formerly of Holland. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 12, in the First Reformed Church in Aplington, with Rev. Philip Grawburg officiating. Marilyn Poppens was the organist. The Vocal Quartet was Kay Eilers, Betty Eiklenborg, James Fekkers, and Rodney Luhring, they sang "Take My Hand Precious Lord" and "Where The Roses Never Fade." The congregation sang "Now Thank We All Our God." Casketbearers were Eldon DeVries, Irwin Schipper, Virgil Lindaman, Dennis Krull, Darrel Krull and Randy Muller. Interment followed in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, rural Holland.
