She was born September 15, 1878 at Terheide, Willmsfeld, Ostfriesland, Germany, a daughter of Oltman Willms and Antje, nee Harms. She was baptized in the Lutheran church at Westerholt. At the age of 11 years she moved to Ostfriesland, Germany and was confirmed in the Lutheran church there, on March I8, 1894 by the Rev. W. Janssen. Read More	SOURCE: THE ANAMOSA EUREKA…NOVEMBER 20, 1941….PAGE 3 Mrs. Mary Gerjets Mrs. Trienje Maria Gerjets passed away at the John McDonald hospital Tuesday morning at 7 o'clock. She was born September 15, 1878 at Terheide, Willmsfeld, Ostfriesland, Germany, a daughter of Oltman Willms and Antje, nee Harms. She was baptized in the Lutheran church at Westerholt. At the age of 11 years she moved to Ostfriesland, Germany and was confirmed in the Lutheran church there, on March I8, 1894 by the Rev. W. Janssen. In June 1903 she came to the United States and lived on a farm near Center Junction. She was married to Henry Gerjets November 26, 1903 by the Rev. Mardorf. They lived on a farm near Scotch Grove for three years and in 1907 they bought a farm Center Junction. They resided here until 1923, when they bought the Burrach farm at Castle Grove. They retired in February 1938 and moved to Monticello. She is survived by her husband, three sons, Harry, Otto and John; three daughters, Mrs. Anna Steindler, Mrs. Etta Luckstedt and Mrs. Lizzie Ruley; four brothers, Willm in Germany, Carl of Anamosa, Rev. J. Willms of Greene and Engwert of Amber and a sister, Elmerch in Germany and fourteen grandchildren. Two sons and her parents preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at ll o'clock at the Wayne Lutheran church conducted by Rev. F. H. Kehren. Services will also be held at the home in Monticello at 10 o'clock. Interment will be made in the family lot at the Wayne Lutheran church.
