Lima News (Lima Ohio) December 28, 1938 Troy Prater KENTON, Dec 26 ----- Funeral Services for Troy Prater, 32 of Alger, who died in McKitrick Hospital here Sunday morning of knife wounds suffered in a fight in Alger late Saturday, were held Wednesday at the Alger Methodist Protestant church with Rev. Arthur Oliver, pastor of the Ridgeway Methodist Protestant church, in charge. Burial was in the Alger Cemetery. Orville Stone, 29, is being held in the Hardin-co jail here under bond of $3,000 awaiting grand jury action on a charge of first degree murder in connection with Prater's death. He was arrested Sunday in Dayton and was returned here to face charges by Hardin-co Sheriff Lloyd Normon on Monday. According to the verdict of Coroner Kenneth Preston of Ada, following a post mortem. Prater's death was due to loss of blood and shock. Two knife wounds were found in his left groin and the large vein in the left leg was severed. Surviving Prater are his Widow, Mrs. Lorena Prater; one son, Troy Prater Jr; two daughters, Bernice and Phyllis Ann Prater, all at home; his parents, Mr and Mrs William Prater of Alger; one sister, Mrs. Emma Camp- bell of Alger; and three brothers, Toy, Lacy and Tracy, all of Alger.
