Description	:	Twyla Jean Bajema, 52, Larchwood, Iowa, died Monday, Aug. 22, 2011, at her home after an eight-month battle with brain cancer. A funeral service will at be 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26, at the Apostolic Christian Church in Lester, Iowa. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Twyla Metzger was born Sept. 19, 1958, to Fredrick Jr. and Estellyn (Banwart) Metzger in Rock Rapids, Iowa. She was raised on a farm near Lester, and graduated from West Lyon Community School in 1977. On June 3, 1977, she married Rod Bajema at her parents' farm. After their marriage the couple lived in Hills and later moved to a farm outside of Larchwood. She was a homemaker and helped her husband on the farm. She also worked at the Tuff Memorial Home in Hills for several years and later operated a day care out of the couple's home. She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church. She enjoyed working outside on the farm and in her garden and flowerbeds. Mrs. Bajema is survived by her husband, Rod Bajema, Larchwood; four daughters, Tami (Dave) Lanz, Wapello, Iowa, Heidi (Ryan) Frank, Oakville, Iowa, Wendi (Lance) Crawford, Andover, and Kelli (Bryce) Kolander, Sioux Falls, S.D.; a son, Micah Bajema, Larchwood; 10 grandchildren; her mother, Estellyn Metzger, Lester; three brothers, Tom (Deb) Metzger and Mark (Audrey) Metzger, all of Larchwood, and Kevin (Dawn) Metzger, Rock Rapids; three sisters, Beth (Dennis) Hartter, Sabetha, Kan., Diane (Tedd) Larson, Hills, and Luann (Aaron) Schmidgall, Mediapolis, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
