Description	:	August 1, 2015, Udella's middle name of Katherine was provided by findagrave member Lisa Kennedy. Della is buried with her daughter and son-in-law, Russell and Mary Jane Guyette. Her great-grandson, Wayne Guyette, is also buried with them. Della's obituary, which I have transcribed below, states that she was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Schworm. Her great-grandson, Wayne Guyette, is also buried with them. Della's obituary, which I have transcribed below, states that she was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Schworm. Edward was actually her second husband. On December 29, 1906, Della married G.W. Pendergraft in Wapello County, Iowa. The marriage record was under the name of Caroline U. Morris, and I believe Caroline was Della's first name, and she went by her middle name of Udella and eventually became known as Della. Her parents on that marriage record are shown as Charles and Emma (Agee) Morris, which agrees with her parents' names in her obituary. Guy and Udel Pendergraft are shown in the 1910 Wapello County Census with their daughter "Marry," age 2. Sometime between 1910 and 1930, Guy and Della divorced. He is shown as divorced, living with his mother and his daughter and son-in-law, Grover and Pearl Caster, in the 1930 Census of Wapello County. Della married Edward August Schworm on April 1, 1929, in Warren County, Illinois, under the name of Catherine U. Morris. Della and Edward Schworm are in the 1930 Census of Wapello County. Her daughter "Jarenite," was living with them, and this was probably her daughter Juanita. After Edward Schworm's death, Della married a gentleman by the name of Steve Kiss and moved to Plains Well, Michigan. --------------- Obituary from "Ottumwa Daily Courier", Thursday, January 4, 1945, Page 14: MRS. DELLA P. KISS Mrs. Della Pendergrant [sic] Kiss, 53, who lived in Ottumwa for a number of years, died at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Bowers nursing home at Plain Well, Mich. Born May 31, 1891, at Agency, she was the daughter of Charles and Emma Morris. Survivors include her husband, Steve Kiss; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Jane Guyette and Mrs. Pearl Caster, both of Ottumwa, and Mrs. Grace Chaney, Royal Oak, Mich., and Mrs. Juanita Burkhart, Kalamazoo, Mich; six grandchildren and a great-granddaughter; five brothers, John, Steven, Frank, Henry and Robert Morris, all of Ottumwa; and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Carr, Mrs. Dora Rupe and Mrs. Nora Goudy, all of Ottumwa. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Schworm, and by her parents. The body is to arrive here late this afternoon and will be taken to the Johnson Funeral chapel where services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev. Charles A. Albin of the Church of the Brethren. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Surviving, in addition to those previously listed, is a former husband, Guy Pendergraft of Ottumwa. Her second husband, Edward Schworm of Ottumwa, preceded her in death.
