Bissen as celebrant of the Solemn Requiem High Mass, Rev. Jacob Weiss of Des Moines, Deacon and the Rev. John Cunningham as Sub-Deacon. Interment was made in St. Joseph's cemetery. He came to this country with his parents in 1892. On September 30, 1902 he was united in marriage to Kate Miller in St. Joseph's Church at Earling by his brother the late Rev. Herman Albers officiating at the ceremony. This union was blessed with two sons and two daughters all of them survive. Following their marriage they made their home on a farm north of Earling where they resided until they retired in Earling 16 years ago. Mr and Mrs Albers would have celebrated their golden wedding in September. Mr Albers was an active ardent church member being associated with the Holy Name Society and the Knights of Columbus ever lending his assistance whenever and wherever it was needed. He was acting Vice President of the Earling Bank, served as city councilman and before retiring from the farm was secretary of the school board. Mr Albers was active until about Christmas, when he was taken ill. He was confirmed to his bed nearly all of the last four months. Surviving are his wife, Kate, two daughters, Mrs Veronica (Rudy) Schulte of Westphalia, Mrs Loretta (Perley) Rosenow of Tennant, two sons, Aloysius and Herman, 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Two brothers also survive, Nick of Earling and Henry of Omaha. Three brothers and one sister preceded him in death, namely, Albert, Sr M. Thelca, Rev. Herman Albers and John.
