She was born in Stokes County on September 25, 1918 to James Fleming and Dora Boles Allen. Mrs. Chapman was a homemaker and a very active, lifelong member of Palmyra United Methodist Church where she was the organist and financial secretary for many decades. Read More	CHAPMAN GERMANTON Una Frances Allen Chapman Sept. 25, 1918 - August 9, 2012 Una Frances Allen Chapman, 93, died Thursday evening, August 9, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Stokes County on September 25, 1918 to James Fleming and Dora Boles Allen. Mrs. Chapman was a homemaker and a very active, lifelong member of Palmyra United Methodist Church where she was the organist and financial secretary for many decades. A 2:00 p.m. funeral service will be held Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Palmyra United Methodist Church with Rev. Sarah Smith-Pitts and Rev. Steve Wood officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Vestal Chapman; a sister, Harriet Allen; a special brother-in-law, Raymond Thomas Smith and a special nephew, Allen Ray Smith. She is survived by one sister, Dorothy Allen Smith; two sisters-in-law, Mae Bingham and Loraine Stout and many special nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Palmyra United Methodist Church and other times at the home of her sister. The family extends a heartfelt thanks to the staff at Walnut Ridge Assisted Living for their kind and compassionate care. Memorials may be made to Palmyra United Methodist Church, 5076 Hwy 8 South, Germanton, NC 27019. Online condolences may be offered at www.burroughsfuneralhome.com.
