Description	:	Ursila E. Mingus, 75, of Dannebrog died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island. Ursila was born Dec. 8, 1934, at Central City to William Cody and Frances (Emery) Roark. Ursila was united in marriage to Jimmie Mingus on Jan. 31, 1956, in Fullerton. Ursila was born Dec. 8, 1934, at Central City to William Cody and Frances (Emery) Roark. Ursila was united in marriage to Jimmie Mingus on Jan. 31, 1956, in Fullerton. Survivors are: husband, Jim of Dannebrog; daughters and a son-in-law, Rene Mingus and significant other, Gary May, of Dannebrog and Sue Mingus and Corey Hood of Otley, United Kingdom; grandchildren, Tyler Martian and fiance, Megan Wichman of Grand Island, April Martian and fiance, James Hyde of Jacksonville, N.C., James Mingus of Greeley, Colo., and Alexander Hood of Otley, United Kingdom; step grandchildren, James Edmondson and David Edmondson of Georgia; and a host of friends and relatives. She was raised in Central City and Fullerton. She attended school in Fullerton and graduated in 1953. Ursila worked at Augustine Company in Grand Island. She continued to work at Augustine Company for a couple of years. The couple lived in Grand Island for six years and then moved to Dannebrog and lived there since. Ursila then began selling Avon for a number of years. Ursila was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Dannebrog. She was a Sunday School Superintendent and played the piano at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, the Dannebrog Extension Club and she helped with the Grundluvs Festival for several years. She was also a member of the Dannebrog Village Board, the Head Start County Board and she served on the board to bring Oak Street Manor to Dannebrog. She participated on Bowling Leagues in St. Paul and Cairo, playing bingo and also helped at Lakeview Nursing Home. She enjoyed cross-stitching, crossword and jig-saw puzzles and reading. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Debra and brother, Luther Roark. Published in The Grand Island Independent on 11/25/2010
