Description	:	Vac Hercik, the subject of this sketch, was born in Czechoslovakia in the village of Frajdnek, Caslavsky, the in the county of Novy Kolin, Jnuary 14, 1841. He died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Vac Minarik in the Pischelville neighborhood, Wednesday, October 24, 1928 a the age of 87 years, 9 months and 10 days. He married in Czechoslovakia. In 1878, he and is wife came to America and settled at Pischelville, where they lived all their lives. Mrs. Hercik passed to her reward in 1915. In 1878, he and is wife came to America and settled at Pischelville, where they lived all their lives. Mrs. Hercik passed to her reward in 1915. We have been given no particulars in the matter, but are sure that the life history of Mr. and Mrs. Hercik would be but a repetition of that of other pioneers, who blazed the way for our present civilization. They had their share of the joys and sorrows of pioneer live. They passed through the trials and adversities that made those who were made of weaker stuff give up and hie them back to the places from whence they came, discouraged with their attempt to build up homes in the new and unsettled territory. The Hercik lived to see the virgin stretches of the county brought from a wild state into productive farms; to see all the wondrous changes that have come over this country in the past half century. Mr. Hercik was an honest and industrious citizen, a good neighbor, a loving husband and a kind and indulgent father. He was rewarded by being given the privilege of living far belong the allotted span of life. He leaves to mourn his passing three daughters, Mrs. Vac Minarik, Mrs. Joseph Wirth and Miss Frances Hercik, all of the Pischelville community, also eleven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a wide circle of friends. Funeral services wee held from the home, Friday of last week, under auspices of the ZCBJ Lodge, Mr. Jacob Kolar delivering the address. Interment was made in the Pischelvills Cemetery.
