She was a lifelong resident of Oliver Springs.She was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Frederick; her mother, Ethel Thelma Seiber; a brother, Ronald J. Seiber; and by a stepbrother, Doyle Nelson.Before her disability, she was employed at Methodist Medical Center in the Environmental Services Department.Valerie was a loving mother and grandmother and she was a member of the Union Valley Baptist Church.Valerie is survived by her husband, Roger Sexton of Oliver Springs; her grandchildren, Destiny Hope Chamberlin of Sunbright, D.J. Carden Jr. of Oliver Springs and Andrea Renee Overton of Deer Lodge; her father, Dennis Seiber of Oliver Springs; her sisters, Roma Jean Shelton and husband, John, of Knoxville, Nancy Langley and husband, Kerry, of Oliver Springs, Gail Patterson and Marvin Brown of Oak Ridge and Barbara Seiber of Oliver Springs; and by a brother, Bruce Seiber and wife, Shell, of Oliver Springs, Tenn.She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews extended family members and special friends, including a special aunt, Louise Borum of Rockwood. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Wayne Morgan officiating.Burial and graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Anderson Memorial Gardens.Sharp Funeral home is in charge of the arrangements.
