Valeta was born in Henry County on April 30, 1922, the daughter of the late Fred and Mary (Kruse) Von Deylen. She married Waldo Mahnke and he preceded her in death. She married Clyde Barton, and he also preceded her in death. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wauseon. Read More	Valeta S. Barton, 96, of Wauseon passed away Monday, September 10, 2018, at Swanton Valley Center. Valeta was born in Henry County on April 30, 1922, the daughter of the late Fred and Mary (Kruse) Von Deylen. She married Waldo Mahnke and he preceded her in death. She married Clyde Barton, and he also preceded her in death. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wauseon. Surviving are two sons, Ron Mahnke of Dayton and Jerry Mahnke of Wauseon; two daughters, Marge Smith of Wauseon and Shirley Mahnke of Sylvania; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great- grandson; sister, Elvera Koder of Wauseon; two stepsons, Bill Barton of Napoleon and Gene Barton of New Mexico. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Rufina Seal; brother, Harold Von Deylen; and stepdaughter, Karen Ellis. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, September 14, 2018, at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Pastor Julie Parsell officating. Interment will be in Riverview Memory Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon has been entrusted with arrangements. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Trinity Lutheran Church.
