Read More	Vallie Kay Karns Pearcy was born during a blackout on December 14, 1942 in Creston, Iowa to Gerald Schooley Karns and Marie Pace Karns. She passed away on September 21, 2018. She moved to Osceola with her family in 1952. She graduated top 10 of her class from Osceola High School in 1961. She was united in marriage to Harold Jay Pearcy on April 27, 1962. Two sons were born to this union, James Harold and Daniel Jay. They lived a short time in Creston before returning to Osceola to make their home, where she has lived for the past 55 years. She was a loving, caring, giving person, and special “Mom” to so many. She worked for Iowa Southern Utilities before retiring after 28 years of service in 1994. She worked at American State Bank until 1999 and worked for a brief time at the casino. In 1998, she became a member of the Eagles Aeries Lodge #3495 and became Secretary and bar manager until the present time. She was a 50 year member of Ophia Chapter #267 Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Christian Church of Osceola. Relatives who preceded her in death were her husband Jay in 1998, son Jim in 2000, parents Gerald and Marie Karns, in-laws Harold and Ina Pearcy, brother-in-laws Roy Mason, Dale Hart and Charles Pearcy.
