Description	:	COLUMBUS - Valonne "Val" Milbourn, 85, of Columbus died Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at Columbus Community Hospital in Columbus. Services will be at 10 :30 a.m. Monday at Peace Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Cory Burma, officiating. Burial will be in the Roselawn Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Milbourn was born Dec. 31, 1926, in Heartwell to Harlie and Erma (Huckfeldt) Simms. She attended Heartwell Elementary school and graduated from Shelton High School and Lincoln Business School. Read More	COLUMBUS - Valonne "Val" Milbourn, 85, of Columbus died Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at Columbus Community Hospital in Columbus. Mrs. Milbourn was born Dec. 31, 1926, in Heartwell to Harlie and Erma (Huckfeldt) Simms. She attended Heartwell Elementary school and graduated from Shelton High School and Lincoln Business School. On Feb. 9, 1945, she was united in marriage to Ivan K. Milbourn in Lincoln. They made their home in Shelton where they had a dairy farm until moving to Columbus in the early 1960's. In addition to being a wife and mother, she put her business skills to work as a realtor and abstractor. She kept herself active with projects such as sewing, knitting, embroidering, painting, playing bridge, traveling, and shopping. An accomplishment which she was proud of was being Mrs. Nebraska 1959. Val is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Nancy Milbourn of Wood River; a daughter-in-law, Susanne Milbourn of Columbus; granddaughter, Kelly (Yogesh) Lamsal of Thornton, Colo., great-grandchildren, Nathan and Ella; grandson: Michael (Jessica) Milbourn of Grand Island, great-grandchildren, JuliAnn, Ayden and Ostynn. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harlie and Erma Simms; her husband, Ivan Milbourn, who died in 1991; a son, Doug Milbourn who died in 2012; great-grandson, Bradley Milbourn.
