Description	:	CUMBERLAND — Vance Edward Cecil, 72, of Cumberland, passed away Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, at Frostburg Village Nursing Home. Born Nov. 11, 1937, in Cresaptown, Mr. Cecil was the son of the late John Robert Cecil Sr., and Hazel Mae (Lease) Cecil. He was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Tammy Cecil; a brother, John R. Cecil; and was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Read More	CUMBERLAND — Vance Edward Cecil, 72, of Cumberland, passed away Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, at Frostburg Village Nursing Home. Born Nov. 11, 1937, in Cresaptown, Mr. Cecil was the son of the late John Robert Cecil Sr., and Hazel Mae (Lease) Cecil. He was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Tammy Cecil; a brother, John R. Cecil; and was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Ed retired from the Kelly-Springfield Tire and Rubber Company and was former owner of the EZ Way Tavern on Greene Street. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2883 in Cresaptown, and Aerie 245 in Cumberland. Ed was also a member of the Outdoor Club; the Good Fellowship Club; the Democrat Club; and the Kennell's Mills Sportsmen's Club. Ed was an avid left-handed fast pitch softball player in several leagues in the Cumberland area. Ed is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shirley "Shirl" J. (Bryant) Cecil; his sons, V. "Buck" Cecil, of Elkins, W.Va., Steve C. Cecil, of Potomac Park, G. Todd Cecil and his wife Dawn, of Rocky Mountain, N.C., and Gary W. Cecil, of Potomac Park; his granddaughters, Kim Cecil, and Holly Cecil; and his grandsons, Cody Cecil and Logan Cecil. Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com on Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010, at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev.
