Varrian O. Tritt entered into the presence of his savior Jesus on Sunday, December 5, 2010. Varrian was born in Provo, Utah, on June 10, 1947, and lived in Jennings and Colby, Kansas, during his childhood. He moved with his family to Taft, California, in 1961 and graduated from Taft High School in 1965 and Taft College in 1967. He then attended college at Cal State Fullerton prior to enlisting in the Marine Corps in 1969. He served his country proudly and received an Honorable Discharge from the Marine Reserves in 1975. He married in December 1975 and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from CSU San Jose. Varrian and Edie were co-owners of a Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise in Redwood City. He was the general manager of their store and was also the main trainer of managers for the KFC/Harman Management stores in the western United States. Upon moving to Bakersfield in the late 1980's, Varrian managed the KFC Brundage Lane store and within a short period of time, raised that store's sales volumes to #1 in Bakersfield. He was an excellent manager/supervisor and encouraged many of his young employees to excel and become successful.
Varrian was a fun-loving, kind-hearted, caring and generous man, who enjoyed golf and furniture refinishing in his spare time. For many years, he and his second wife had an antiques business in San Luis Obispo and enjoyed traveling to shows and sales. Varrian also had his own business as a medical biller in the 1990's.
Many loved ones, including his mother and father, preceded Varrian to heaven and were there with Jesus to greet him upon his arrival. He is survived by his two sisters, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Varrian also leaves behind his kind and loving friends who were also with him at the end of his life here on earth.
Arrangements are being scheduled for Varrian to be interred at the Bakersfield National Veterans' Cemetery.
Donations in Varrian's name may be made to the First Baptist Church in Taft or to a veterans' organization of your choice.
