Description	:	The Des Moines Register 18 May 2008 Vava L. Gulling, age 72 of Runnells, died Friday, May 16, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center of Des Moines. A private family graveside service will be held at Canfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Iowa State Fair Blue Ribbon Foundation or the Runnells Fire and may be sent to the family. The daughter of Don Weaver and Phoebe (McClelland) Weaver, Vava was born on July 15, 1935 in rural Polk County. She was a graduate of Runnells High School, class of 1954. On October 30, 1954 Vava was united in marriage with Keith Gulling in Runnells. Vava worked as an underwriting clerk for the insurance industry. She retired in 1993 to care for her granddaughter, Bailey. She was so proud of Bailey and loved the time they shared together. Vava was such a caring person and would do anything for anyone. She had a love for making miniature doll houses and camping at the Iowa State Fair. Vava entered four of her doll houses into the state fair and won four blue ribbons and three best of shows. Vava's other interests included painting and spending the winter with her husband in Arizona. Those left to honor her memory are her husband of 54 years, Keith Gulling of Runnells, daughter Jan Petersma of Johnston, granddaughter Bailey Petersma, sister Carole Gates of Carlisle, and countless dear friends. Vava was preceded in death by her parents.
