Metcalf's 245 No.27th ============ The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, April 15, 1965; pg. 5 Veda Luverne Rogers, who died Wednesday, April 7, 1965, was born September 25, 1888 in Nuckolls County, Nebraska. She taught school in this area for three years before marrying C.E. Crook in 1908. He preceded her in death, leaving four children, Mrs. Aubrey Corn, Lincoln, Nebraska; Mrs. Sherwin Carlson, Rochester, Minn.; Mrs. Keith Corn, Lake Oswego, Oregon; and Mrs. Irene Wright, Los Angeles, California. On February 3, 1926, she was married to R.R. Rogers. He preceded her in death, leaving one child, Emerson Lee Rogers, Lincoln, Nebraska. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. J.A. Pritts, and Mrs. H.L. Ryker, ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She united with the Christian church early in life and has been a faithful worker and member until the end. She was a loving mother, devoted to her family, and will be greatly missed. Services were held in Lincoln and Nelson, Nebraska. Interment was in the Nelson cemetery (sic).
