Description	:	VELMA HONTS MUSCATINE, Iowa - Velma E. Honts, 85, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2015, lovingly surrounded by her family, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Per her wishes, she was cremated. Visitation luncheon will be Wednesday, June 17, from noon until 1:30 p.m. at Gannon Hall with a mass to follow at St. Mathias Church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The Reverend Bob Cloos will officiate. Velma was born on February 20, 1930, in Muscatine, the daughter of Albert and Helen Hammann Noll. She married Lloyd H. Honts on December 10, 1955. He preceded her in death on December 15, 1971. Velma was a member of St. Mary's Church and later attended St. Mathias Church. She looked forward to playing quarter bingo at Bickford, in which she would give her quarters to her great granddaughter for her piggy bank. When she was still able, she liked to fish with her sister Deanna. She loved outdoor flowers and watching the birds. She enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and spending time with her family, whom she loved dearly, and was especially proud of her grandchildren. Her great granddaughter, Aubree, would brighten her day. Those left to honor her memory include a son, Ronnie Honts and his wife Lori and son Derek; a daughter, Patricia Howell and husband, Dave and their children Ryan, Brooke and Breanne; one great granddaughter, Aubree; a brother, Donald Noll and his wife Jeanne; a special sister, Deanna Fuller, who she was very close to; a sister-in-law, Patti Noll; and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Vicki Krieger (who was also her hairstylist) and her family. Velma will be deeply missed by all. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five sisters, Ruth Curry, Lucille Kemper, Lorraine Sturms, Shirley Heider, and Alice Noll; five brothers, Herbert, Ray, Alfred, Marvin and Jerry Noll.
