Born, January 14, 1914, in Grant County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Wesley Mallow and Annie Jamima (Stonestreet) Mallow. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Francis William Soethe, 1940, and her second husband, William "Willie" Andrew Hoban, on Mary 24, 1986. Born, January 14, 1914, in Grant County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Wesley Mallow and Annie Jamima (Stonestreet) Mallow. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Francis William Soethe, 1940, and her second husband, William "Willie" Andrew Hoban, on Mary 24, 1986. Mrs. Hoban was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She is survived her son, Thomas Michael Hoban and his wife, Paulette, Pasadena, CA; and her daughters, Mary Catherine "Boots" Burke, Bel Air - Cumberland, MD; Jean Arsenault and her husband, Jerry, Sturbridge, MA; Margaret Ann Beckward and her husband, Eugene, Brockton, MA; Carole Louise Stratton and her husband, Jim, Cumberland, MD; and Ellen Marie Shelton and her husband Craig, Cumberland, MD; 18 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Friends were received at Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Sunday, from 2:00-4:00 P.M., and 7:00-9:00 P.M. A Christian Wake Service was conducted at the funeral home on Sunday, at 8:00 P.M. by Deacon Frank Werner. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at the Church of Saint Patrick on Monday, November 18, 2002, at 9:00 A.M., with Monsignor Thomas Bevan as celebrant.
