Description	:	FAIRPORT, Iowa -- Velma H. Truesdale, 91, of Fairport, passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Trinity Hospital in Rock Island, Illinois. Funeral Service will be held at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Casket bearers will be Keith Gorham, Blaine Gorham, Bill Gorham, Nathan Gorham, Dean Cole and James Diveney. Burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Velma. Truesdale, 91, of Fairport, passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Trinity Hospital in Rock Island, Illinois. Funeral Service will be held at the Geo. M. Burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Velma. She was born on July 27, 1920, in Muscatine, the daughter of John W. and Helena Friese McKillip. Velma was a graduate of Muscatine High School. On March 29, 1943, Velma was united in marriage to Oddie W. Truesdale in Muscatine. He preceded her in death in 1992. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Ladies Aide, attended Lutheran churches in the area and enjoyed painting, embroidery, writing cards for all occasions, shopping, and visiting with neighbors when she was home. But most of all, Velma dearly loved to spend time with her family. She will be deeply missed by her children, Virgil D. Truesdale of Fairport, and Barbara J. Ash and husband, James, of Monroe City, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and siblings, Chester McKillip and wife, Joy, of Muscatine, Anna M. Morgan and husband, Ralph, of Missouri, Esther Hansen of Durant and Bernice Stalkfleet of Muscatine. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Janet Hipshur; one son, Jerry Truesdale; and six brothers, Clarence, Clifford, John and three in infancy.
