Description	:	Obituary from Helena's Independent Record 10/05/2005: Former Hobson resident Velma Lucille (Guynn) Avery, 93, of 1500 32nd St. S., a homemaker, died of natural causes Friday at a local nursing home. Visitation is 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Croxford Funeral Home and Crematory, with graveside services at 2 p.m. in Central Montana Memorial Gardens in Lewistown. Velma Guynn was born July 1, 1912, in North Star, Neb., and in April 1913, she, along with her mother, two sisters and a brother, moved to Hobson following the death of her father. She graduated from Hobson High School, working at odd jobs in the telephone office and post office. She also worked at the courthouse in Stanford, where she met and married Robert C. Avery in 1936. They moved to Hobson, where Robert did body work for years, and later they owned and operated the service station, café and Conoco bulk plant. He passed away in February 1980. She enjoyed reading, visiting with friends and crocheting afghans, many of them being received by friends and relatives. Memorials are suggested to the Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch.
