The little life was short as compared with life in general, but after all quite a long stay. Should you received the visit of a friend for a fortnight it would seem a good long visit, but to entertain her for 2 years and 7 days, as was the case with the little visitor who said "good bye" so sweetly to us on Monday night, would be to have our lives blended, the chords of love so intertwined as to make our lives each a part of the other. So, dear hearts, was the life of little Verna – she staid long enough to tie our heart strings about her little life and then to fly away, drawing us after.
