THE POLICE ARE NOT GIVING OUT ANY INFORMATION AS TO THE CLUE. THE FACT THAT MRS. KIRKPATRICK HAD NO KNOWN MOTIVE FOR KILLING HERSELF LENDS COLOR TO THE THEORY, HOWEVER. THE HUSBAND, WHO WAS AWAY AT THE TIME OF MRS. KIRKPATRICK'S DEATH, CAN ADD NO NEW INFORMATION. Mrs. Venna Norris Kirkpatrick, the pretty 19-year-old wife of Oscar Kirkpatrick, a N.P. railway clerk, committed suicide yesterday by holding her head over a gas stove, the fumes of which she inhaled, in the kitchen of their flat at the Heaton apartments, 721 S. E Street. When the room was entered Mrs. Kirkpatrick was found lying over the gas stove in the corner of the kitchen. All the breakfast dishes were washed and put away and everything was neatly arranged. Coroner Shaver pronounced it a case of suicide. Two weeks ago City Detective Barnes was called to the house by the landlady to quell a disturbance between Kirkpatrick and his wife. Kirkpatrick denies, however, that there was any serious trouble in the household and says that the domestic life was happy. "I can't believe that she would kill herself," said her husband. "She was bright and cheery during breakfast and we have had no trouble outside of ordinary little spats which would blow over in no time. I believe she had one of her fainting spells to which was was subject while caught between the kitchen table and the stove and was unable to get away. We have been married but 11 months. Mrs. Kirkpatrick worked at Rhodes Brothers department store, having found it very lonesome to stay at home all day without anything to do. She was not forced to do so by financial conditions." Mrs. Kirkpatrick worked at the Rhodes Brothers stores as cashier. She is survived, besides her husband, by her mother and a brother, who reside at 922 South E Street. ***** Her father: Frederick A.
