Description	:	Northville--The funeral for Vera Elizabeth Hain, 93, Northville, will be at 2 pm Monday at the Northwestern United Church in Mellette. The Rev. Duane Contois will officiate. Burial will be in the Northville Cemetery with Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield in charge of arrangements. She died of heart failure on Sunday, March 19, 1995, at St. Luke's Midland Regional Medical Center in Aberdeen. Vera Townsend was born April 23, 1901, to Lillie and Dolph Townsend in Cresbard. She died of heart failure on Sunday, March 19, 1995, at St. Luke's Midland Regional Medical Center in Aberdeen. Vera Townsend was born April 23, 1901, to Lillie and Dolph Townsend in Cresbard. She moved to Northville at the age of 3 and lived there through the remaining years of her life. She attended 12 years of school in Northville. On Jan. 2, 1919 she married Earl Hain in Redfield. They owned and operated the Northville grocery store for many years. She worked as a cook for the Northville school until she was 65. She then entered the grandparent program in Redfield helping mentally and physically challenged youths. She was known for her warmth, sense of humor and kindness. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Northville Methodist Church and the Ladies Society. Survivors include one daughter, Earlene Feifer of Fort Collins, Colo.; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, her husband, three daughters, one grandson and one great-granddaughter. Aberdeen American News March 24, 1995 page 6A
