She and her three brothers attended school in Sumner, a little more than a mile's walk from their rural home. When she was 18, she graduated from Sumner High School and moved to Ellensburg, where she attended teachers' college at Central Washington. There she met her husband John W. "Jack" Robinson. When she was 6, her family moved across county to Sumner, Washington. She and her three brothers attended school in Sumner, a little more than a mile's walk from their rural home. When she was 18, she graduated from Sumner High School and moved to Ellensburg, where she attended teachers' college at Central Washington. There she met her husband John W. "Jack" Robinson. They married on August 1, 1923. Vera was a school teacher and Jack a school superintendent in Aberdeen and Edmonds. Jack passed away June 26, 1998, two months shy of their 75th wedding anniversary. Vera passed away May 15, 2004 at the age of 105. "If you want to be old, you want to laugh and laugh and laugh."
