Read More	Obituary From "Ottumwa Courier," Saturday, June 26, 1976, Page 7: VERA BEVINGTON Mrs. Vera McClure Bevington, 71, of Des Moines, died Friday at 8:30 a.m. at Wesley Acres Rest Home in Des Moines. She was born May 31, 1905, in Davis County, the daughter of William Stephen and Rosa Carbaugh McClure. When she was two months old, her mother died and she was reared by her aunts, living in Ottumwa for nearly 20 years before they moved to Des Moines. Mrs. Bevington worked for the Iowa Power and Light Co., for 45 years, retiring in 1969. She was a member of the West Des Moines Christian Church and the Des Moines Women's Club. She was married to Elmer Bevington, April 1, 1950, and he preceded her in death. Surviving are one brother, Ray McClure of Floris; a stepson, Loyd Bevington of Des Moines; a nephew, William R. McClure of Floris; three stepgrandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren. The funeral will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Hamilton's Funeral Home in Des Moines. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery in Ottumwa with graveside services at 2 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Richard C. Faust of the First Lutheran Church will officiate.
