Read More	Veraldine Hansen April 12, 1923 - December 1, 2020 Sacramento, California - Mrs. Veraldine Hansen (nee Sharp) Born April 12,1926, in Enders, Nebraska, to Claud LeRoy Sharp and May Pearl Flory Sharp, Veraldine Hansen passed away peacefully at home in Sacramento, California, on December 1, 2020, after a long illness. She was baptized into the Church of the Brethren in Enders, choosing Christ as a child, and was an active member of the Marconi Avenue Baptist Church in Sacramento. Veraldine was preceded in death by her parents; her twin sister Geraldine Sharp; her brother LeRoy and his wife, Thelma; her brother Kermit and his first and second wives, Ella and Thelma; her brother Wayne and his wife, Lois; her sister Neva Canfield; her sister Zella Chamberlain and her husband, Ward; and five nieces and nephews. She is survived by her brother-in-law John Canfield and many nieces and nephews and their children and grandchildren. Veraldine grew up on the family farm with her six siblings, attending grammar school in Enders and Chase County High School in Imperial, Nebraska. In 1947, she graduated from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing and began her calling as a registered nurse, first at the Veterans Hospital in Cheyenne, Wyoming; then at Sutter Hospital in Sacramento; and in later years as a private nurse. Often throughout her long and rewarding career, with a kind heart, she gave up her vacations and sick leave to care for ill family members. In accordance with her long-held wishes, Veraldine will be buried next to her twin sister in the family plot in Imperial, where a "Celebration of Life" memorial service will be held later next year when family members are able to gather in her honor.
