Description	:	Verba Jeanne (Grandma Bobo) Eicher, née Troyer, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 89. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved her family, her church, her community and served them all faithfully during her lifetime. Read More	Verba Jeanne (Grandma Bobo) Eicher, née Troyer, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 89. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved her family, her church, her community and served them all faithfully during her lifetime. She was a wonderful homemaker and she especially enjoyed baking, quilting and volunteering at the Et-Cetera shop, a Mennonite Central Committee thrift store located in Seward. As a devout Christian woman, she was a charter member of the Beth-El Mennonite Church (now the Beth-El Community Church), where she served faithfully over the years as a Sunday School teacher, Secretary/Treasurer of WMSC sewing group, Church Historian, Cradle Roll and many other volunteer positions. She worked many years for the Milford Public Schools as a cook, serving countless meals to students at the Pleasant Dale Elementary school. Verba was born on January 17, 1927 in Milford, Nebrasa, the daughter of Melvin and Mary (Saltzman) Troyer. She attended high school in Milford. Verba married Merle W. Eicher on November 16, 1947, soon after a two year courtship of letter writing, during Merle’s service in the US Navy. After marrying Merle they settled in Milford where she was a homemaker as Merle began his career as an electrician. During the summers of the mid-1950’s to early 1960’s, Merle and Verba joined the George Brunk and Myron Augsberger Tent Revival Meetings, traveling throughout the US and Canada. Merle was a maintenance electrician and Verba helped with the Christian outreach of this mission service. During the period from 1949-1960 the couple welcomed three children into their home and Verba set about teaching them her deep and abiding love of God. The grandchildren and great grandchildren remember “Grandma Bobo” as a kind, gentle, loving and fun grandma who connected with each and every one of her grandchildren in a special way and did it with boundless energy. Every Christmas, for many years, Grandma Bobo made sure that all the grandchildren knew the real meaning of Christmas by reading the story of Jesus’ birth before allowing the standard gift exchange. This is a tradition that still lives on today with the great grandchildren. Verba is survived by: children Steve (Gloria) Eicher, Sue (Dave) Roth, Jon (JoAnn) Eicher; siblings, Luetta Brenneman, Wayne (Doris) Troyer; sisters-in-law, Lillian Beckler andYvonne Troyer; grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by: husband, Merle; grandson, Samuel Eicher; parents, Melvin (Mary) Troyer; siblings (in-laws) Edna (Uriah) Stauffer, Viola (Clarence) Stauffer, Moneda (Frank) Hartzler, Orve (Arlene) Troyer, Leonard (Eleanor) Troyer, Ray (JoAnn) Troyer, Virgil Brenneman; siblings-in-law Lola (Lee) Jantze, Lela (Vernon) Hershberger, DeElda (Edgar) Hershberger, Ben Eicher, Lawrence Beckler. Verba thoroughly enjoyed participating in golf and bowling for many years. She continued to bowl through her 88th year and maintained her “competitive edge”. In her later years she became an avid Husker fan, watching every Husker game on television and listening to many non-televised Husker event on the radio. She loved being a part of the Et Cetera Shop staff, looking forward to work every Monday where she was considered the “resident jewelry expert” for the past 30+ years. The other loves in her life were spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and baking. She was especially known for her runzas, rolls, buns, pigs-n-blankets and cookies.
