Description	:	MINDEN - Vergene "Jeanne" Randall, 82, of Minden, mother of David Randall of North Platte, died May 5, 2004, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Jeanne was born Feb. 11, 1922, in Minden to Peter and Pearl Petersen Nelson. She grew up in the Minden area and graduated from Minden High School in 1941. Read More	MINDEN - Vergene "Jeanne" Randall, 82, of Minden, mother of David Randall of North Platte, died May 5, 2004, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Jeanne was born Feb. 11, 1922, in Minden to Peter and Pearl Petersen Nelson. She grew up in the Minden area and graduated from Minden High School in 1941. On June 1, 1941, she married Robert Randall and they lived and worked in Minden. Jeanne worked for Mason's Market for 25 years and during that time she also worked at the Minden Theater for 27 years. Jeanne also worked as a dispatcher for the Minden Police Department and the Kearney County Sheriff's Department for six years and later managed Dave Spirit Shop for 15 years. Robert died in 1974. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Minden, Eastern Star, Minden American Legion Auxiliary, Daughters' of the Nile, the Does and was past district president for the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include a son, David Randall of North Platte; a sister, Vernelle Beck of New Port Richey, Fla.; and a sister-in-law, Lois Nelson of Minden. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Nick Nelson. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at the United Methodist Church in Minden with the Rev. Dr. Bill Hunter officiating. Burial will be in the Minden Cemetery. The Layton Funeral Home in Minden is in charge. North Platte Telegraph May 8, 2004
