He was born Sept. 23, 1912, near Abilene, and was a farmer and dairyman in the Abilene area. Mr. Hoffman was a member of the First Methodist Church, Abilene, and of its official board. He was a director of the Federal Land Bank of Abilene, past-president of the Kansas Ayrshire Breeders association and a director-at-large at the time of his death, a member of the advisory board of the Chapman chapter of Young Farmers, and a dairy leader in the Newbern 4H... He was born Sept. 23, 1912, near Abilene, and was a farmer and dairyman in the Abilene area. Mr. Hoffman was a member of the First Methodist Church, Abilene, and of its official board. He was a director of the Federal Land Bank of Abilene, past-president of the Kansas Ayrshire Breeders association and a director-at-large at the time of his death, a member of the advisory board of the Chapman chapter of Young Farmers, and a dairy leader in the Newbern 4H club. He is survived by the widow, Veranita, of the home; two sons, Kenneth and Calvin, and two daughters, Dolores and Cynthia, all of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Hoffman, Abilene; a brother, Loren, Abilene, and two sisters, Mrs. Opal Horner, Wichita, and Virginia Hoffman, Abilene. The funeral will be at 2 pm Wednesday at the First Methodist Church in Abilene, the Rev. Ross Thornton officiating. Burial will be in Abilene cemetery. Friends may call at the Danner funeral home, Abilene. The family suggests memorials to the building fund of the First Methodist Church.
