Schulz, age 89 of Wisner, NE, will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wisner, NE with Pastor Robert Schilling officiating. Interment will be in the Wisner Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner and will continue on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Verlin passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at the Wisner Care Center. Verlin Dale Schulz was born on November 29, 1928, south of Wisner, NE, to Herbert and Ida (Holtz) Schulz. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, rural Wisner, NE. Verlin attended St. Matthew’s Parochial School and Cuming Co. Rural School District #56. On April 24, 1949, he was united in marriage to Dorine D. Schwartz at the Zion Lutheran Church, rural Wisner, NE. The couple lived on a farm south of Wisner, where Verlin farmed, raised livestock, and sold McCurdy seed. The couple loved to travel on the trips that Verlin was awarded through the seed company. In 1993, the couple moved to Wisner, and Verlin worked at Holland Feedlots until 2013. Verlin was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wisner, and enjoyed playing cards with the guys and in their couple’s card club. Survivors include- Children and their families- Russell Schulz of Linn Creek, MO and children- Christopher Schulz and daughter-Kaitlin Angela and Gerry O’Shea and family-Evan, Reagan, Romie, Johnathon, Leah & Rosie Curtis Schulz (deceased) and daughter- Brandy Ketcherside and family-Macy, Curtis, Christian & Lexi Greg and Melissa Schulz of Wisner, NE and family- Jasmine and Lowell Heller Jenna and Ryan McNeill Jacob Schulz Rodney Schulz of Linn Creek, MO Jodie and Ted Harder of Wisner, NE and children- Nicole and TJ Daberkow Hilary Harder and fiancée Connor Mele Travis Schulz of Norfolk, NE and children- Alaina Schulz Carson Schulz Sister- Bonnie and LeRoy Petersen of Wisner, NE Verlin was preceded in death by his parents, wife- Dorine Schulz, and son-Curtis Schulz.
