Stauffer Vern Joseph Stauffer was born on October 3, 1921 on a farm south of Milford to Jacob and Lavina (Miller) Stauffer, the fourth of six children and he passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on Friday, May 8, 2015 at Crestview Healthcare in Milford. Stauffer Vern Joseph Stauffer was born on October 3, 1921 on a farm south of Milford to Jacob and Lavina (Miller) Stauffer, the fourth of six children and he passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on Friday, May 8, 2015 at Crestview Healthcare in Milford. As a young boy he enjoyed helping his Dad on the farm. He attended Country School through the eighth grade. He was united in marriage to Lucille Roth on February 16th, 1947 in Milford, NE. To this union two children, Charlene and Thomas were born. They made their home in the Milford area. He was a lifetime member of East Fairview Mennonite Church. Vern is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lucille, Milford, daughter and son-in-law, Charlene and Jim Stutzman, Friend, and son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Carla Stauffer, Lincoln. Vern was blessed with three granddaughters whom he loved to spend lots of time with babysitting and playing games together, Janel Stutzman, Jill and Nick Crow, all of Lincoln, and Lindsey and Todd Kastl of Bruno. He was also blessed to be called Papa by his two great-grandchildren, Harleigh and Quinten Crow of Lincoln. He is also survived by his sisters, Lola Kennel of Shickley and Ruth Schweitzer of Fairmont, sister-in-law, Carol Stauffer of Milford, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Arlene and Merle Stutzman and Donna and Harold Roth, all of Milford, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dennis and Phyllis Roth of Wolbach. Vern was preceded in death by his parents and parents-in-law, Arthur and Evelyn Roth, sister and brother-in-law, Ione and Perry Schweitzer, brother, William Stauffer, brother and sister-in-law, Wallace and Edna Stauffer, brothers-in-law, Lester Kennel, Lyle Schweitzer and Willis Roth, and sister-in-law, Virginia Stauffer.
