Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at St. Lawrence Church in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Father Joe Dillinger. Lectors will be granddaughters, Ann Tiefenthaler-Jackson and Kris Tiefenthaler. Gift Bearers will be granddaughters, Tami LaChance, Tera Tiefenthaler, and Amy Tiefenthaler. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at St. Lawrence Church in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Father Joe Dillinger. Lectors will be granddaughters, Ann Tiefenthaler-Jackson and Kris Tiefenthaler. Gift Bearers will be granddaughters, Tami LaChance, Tera Tiefenthaler, and Amy Tiefenthaler. Mass Servers will be Carter Ludwig, Sydney Ludwig, and Austin Tiefenthaler. Eucharistic Ministers will be Dale Tiefenthaler, Diane Hannasch, and Audrey Siepker. The Carroll Catholic Daughters of America, St. Anthony Hospital Auxiliary, and Breda American Legion Auxiliary will form an honor guard for the funeral mass. Casket Bearers will be grandchildren, David Tiefenthaler, Mike Buchholz, Collin Tiefenthaler, Carol Lewis, Tia Tiefenthaler, and Kim Tiefenthaler. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll. Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 3:30 P.M. Monday. A rosary will be prayed at 4 P.M. Monday by the Carroll Catholic Daughters of America and Legion of Mary. There will be a Christian wake service at 6:30 P.M. Monday by St. Lawrence Parish. Memorials may be left at the funeral home or church for the St. Anthony Hospital Foundation. Mrs. Tiefenthaler was born on November 4, 1913, at Halbur, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Halbur) Neppl. She spent her younger years in the Halbur community and attended St. Augustine School. When she was fourteen years old her family moved to Carroll. On February 4, 1935, she was married to Alfred Tiefenthaler at St. Vibian Cathedral in Los Angeles, California, with Father George Scott officiating. Following their marriage the couple moved seven miles north of Carroll on Highway 71 and started Al’s Corner Service Station, a business which remains in the family to this day. The Tiefenthaler’s retired in 1978 and moved to their home in Carroll. She was a member of St. Lawrence Parish, Parish Ladies Guild, Catholic Daughters of America, Legion of Mary, St. Anthony Hospital Auxiliary, and Breda American Legion Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alfred Tiefenthaler in 1979; a granddaughter, Julie Tiefenthaler; great great granddaughter, Addison Knobbe; sisters, Mary Heinrichs, Florence Eatinger, and Sister Lavina Nepple F.S.P.A.; and brothers, Albert, Ben, Alonzo, Clarence, Lawrence, and Walter Neppl.
