Description	:	Verna Dee Snow, age 80, of San Antonio, Texas, the daughter of Richard Curtis and Florence Mae (Smith) Turpen, was born September 28, 1940, at Pleasanton, Iowa. She died at Buena Vida Nursing and Rehab Center in San Antonio on December 4, 2020. Verna grew up in Pleasanton, Iowa until the family moved to Des Moines, Iowa where she attended Valley High School and played guard on the girl’s basketball team the year they went to State. Read More	Verna Dee Snow, age 80, of San Antonio, Texas, the daughter of Richard Curtis and Florence Mae (Smith) Turpen, was born September 28, 1940, at Pleasanton, Iowa. She died at Buena Vida Nursing and Rehab Center in San Antonio on December 4, 2020. Verna grew up in Pleasanton, Iowa until the family moved to Des Moines, Iowa where she attended Valley High School and played guard on the girl’s basketball team the year they went to State. She graduated in 1958. Verna married Arthur Nelson Snow. The couple lived in Des Moines when Verna worked for Look magazine as a typist and they were blessed with their first son, Larry. They moved to Denver, Colorado in the early 1960’s and were blessed with their second son, Randy. Verna started working for J.C. Penney’s as a temp worker. She got on full time and worked her way up to include job titles of senior executive, account receivable manager, and district credit manager. In 1985, she transferred to San Antonio, Texas and retired in 2003, after 40 years of service. Verna enjoyed her grandchildren. She also traveled to Iowa every summer to visit her siblings and extended family. Preceding her in death were her parents; and siblings, Valinda “Vindy” Craig, Keith Turpen, and Vicky Hrovat. Survivors include her sons, Larry Snow and Randy Snow and wife, Mica, all of San Antonio; grandsons, Tyler and Jennifer Snow of Portsmouth, Ohio, Spencer Snow and Brian Snow, both of San Antonio; two great granddaughters, Natalie and Audrey Snow; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sally and Danny Myers of Altoona, Iowa and Bonnie and Jeff Whitehall of Magnolia, Texas; brother-in-law, John Hrovat of Lawrence, Kansas; sister-in-law, Marcia Turpen of Ankeny, Iowa; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
