Description	:	Verna Ella Robinson, 99, of Woodland Park, Colorado, formerly of Elgin and Hopkinton died Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at home. Verna was born on January 9, 1909, at Denver, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Cora (Briden) Clingman. She graduated from Cedar Falls High School. Verna received her teacher's certificate from the Iowa State Teachers College in 1929 and started teaching fifth and sixth grades in Geneseo, Ia. Read More	Verna Ella Robinson, 99, of Woodland Park, Colorado, formerly of Elgin and Hopkinton died Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at home. Verna was born on January 9, 1909, at Denver, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Cora (Briden) Clingman. She graduated from Cedar Falls High School. Verna received her teacher's certificate from the Iowa State Teachers College in 1929 and started teaching fifth and sixth grades in Geneseo, Ia. Later she was a school bus driver and then returned to the classroom as a mathematics teacher until she retired from Maquoketa Valley Community Schools in 1973. Verna was married to Carl James Robinson on August 17, 1933, at the Little Brown Church in the Vale at Nashua, Iowa. Together they resided in Hazleton, Oran, Elgin, and Hopkinton. Verna enjoyed painting, traveling, and gardening and was a Master Gardener for many years. She enjoyed researching genealogy and wrote a book on Clingman family history. She was a member of the Hopkinton and Woodland Park United Methodist Churches. Survivors include her three children, Rev. Donna (Don) Buckman of Klemme, Iowa, Janet Hronik (special friend, Bob King) of Woodland Park, Colorado, and James (Sandy) Robinson of Denver, Colorado. Eight grandchildren: Douglas Buckman, Darren (Gayla) Buckman, Dirk (Melissa) Buckman, Susie Galus, Brian Hronik, Laura Hronik, Annette Hronik, and Nicholas Hronik. Seven great grandchildren: Josh Bailey, Heather Buckman, Stephanie Buckman, Maddison Buckman, Brenna Buckman, Ella Buckman, and Adam Hronik. Two brothers: Warren (Harriet) Clingman of Lacey, Washington and Eugene (Fran) Clingman of Poway, California. One sister-in-law: Ada Marie Clingman of Benzonia, Michigan. Verna was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Robinson in 1984; and two brothers, Lloyd and Larry Clingman.
