Services Were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Walter Funeral Home in Anthon, Iowa. Pastor Ted Sieck officiated. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Anthon. Mrs. Coon, the former Verna Dicus, was born May 28, 1908, at Anthon and graduated from Anthon High School in 1924. She married Arthur W. Coon August 1, 1924, at Sioux City. Survivors include her husband, six sons, Arthur L. of Boise, Idaho, Willis of Corpus Christi, Texas, Franklin and Lawrence both of Charleston, South Carolina, Thomas of South Sioux City and Richard; one foster daughter, Mrs. Russell (Karola) King of Des Moines; three sisters, Mrs. Eva Waugh of Anthon, Mrs. Esther Spratt of Green and Mrs. Madge Morrison of Sioux city; one brother, Cleland of Sioux City, twenty grandchildren and twenty-seven great grandchildren.
