Dubas Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Verna was born in Lindsay, Nebraska to Herluf and Astrid (Feddersen) Christensen. She graduated from Central City High school. Verna worked for a law office in York as well as for Consumer Public Power. She married Harold Davis in February 1960 and moved to Osceola. Verna was born in Lindsay, Nebraska to Herluf and Astrid (Feddersen) Christensen. She graduated from Central City High school. Verna worked for a law office in York as well as for Consumer Public Power. She married Harold Davis in February 1960 and moved to Osceola. She then worked at Annie Jeffrey Hospital and for William Norton in his law office. Verna lived a brief time in Denver, then moved to Grand Island and eventually back to Osceola where she began a 33-year career as clerk magistrate for the Polk County court. She retired in 2012 at the age of 77 and was appointed as an admiral in the Nebraska Navy. She continued to work part time at Mills & Reiter Law Office and volunteered at the thrift shop and senior center. She was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran church and served on many committees there. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, antique shopping, sewing, attending her children’s and grandchildren’s activities and traveling (in the early 1980s Verna enjoyed a trip around the world). Verna was also an avid Husker fan and she was not to be disturbed on Husker game days! She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Rodney Christensen. Verna was also very proud of her Danish heritage.
