He departed this life at Harvey, Ill., June 17, 1948, at the age of 51 years, 3 months and 4 days. His death occurred in a traffic accident. Read More	WEATHERFORD, VERNE BRYAN—Verne Bryan Weatherford, son of William and Serilda Weatherford, was born March 13, 1897, in Adair county, Missouri. He departed this life at Harvey, Ill., June 17, 1948, at the age of 51 years, 3 months and 4 days. His death occurred in a traffic accident. Moving with his parents to Geneva at the age of eight years, he spent the remainder of his boyhood here, then a few years in Kansas and grew to manhood in Minnesota. He served his country in World War I and entered the postal service in August, 1919, at Moorhead, Minn. At the time of his death he was employed in the post office at St. Paul, Minn. While yet a child, Verne gave his life to Christ and of late years was a member of the Presbyterian church. In 1920 he was united in marriage to Mildred Loberg of Fargo, N. D., and to this union was born one daughter Audrey LaVerne. In 1932 he was united in marriage to Selma Muhle of Glyndon, Minn., and to this union three children were born, Wayne, Lois and Rodney. Besides his four children, he leaves to mourn his departure three grandchildren of Fargo, N. D.; his mother, Mrs. Serilda Weatherford, and one brother, Glenn of Geneva; two sisters, blanche pester and Marieta Songster of Lincoln, Neb.; a host of nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. His father and one sister preceded him in death. He was a kind and loving father and the welfare of his family always first in his thoughts and plans. Being so kind, cheerful and generous, he made a wide circle of friends everywhere he went and was highly respected by all. Funeral services were held at the Geneva, Methodist church, Monday, June 21, at 2 p. m. Rev. Ben F. Wallace officiated. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery with the American Legion in charge. Those from out-of-town, attending included Mrs. Kenneth Maynard and Donna and Mrs. Jennie Hogan of Fargo, N. D., Mr. and Mrs. S. G. Songster, Joyce and James, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Pester and Donald, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wilson and Freddie, Elden Pester and Helen, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Pester, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Pester and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Wolfe of Lincoln, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Pester of Ceresco, Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Pester of Denton, Mrs. Henry Foster, Mrs. Lillian Songster and Carl songster of Exeter.
