The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle on Saturday, August 20, 2011 from 6pm until 8pm. At other times, the family will meet at the home of his son, Roy Smith, 9522 Richard Sandy Road, Oakboro. He is survived by his son, Roy Smith and his wife Carolyn of Oakboro; two grandchildren, Karla Leigh Ennis and husband Lee of Locust and Chad Lee Smith and wife Ellie of Oakboro; 5 great-grandchildren ; daughter in law, Frances Crisco Smith; sister in law, Amelia Smith; and special friend, Edith Little of Oakboro. Mr. Smith was a past employee of Cannon Mills. Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund, 617 Bethel Church Road, Locust, NC 28097.
