Description	:	Vernetta Rhine, 97, of Osage Beach, Missouri was called to her eternal home on Wednesday November 3, 2021, surrounded by family. She was born in Atlantic, Iowa on January 6, 1924, the daughter of Nels and Hannah Hoegh. She graduated from Atlantic High School and was married to Dr. Melvin Crane for 25 years and was blessed with three children. She also... Read More	Vernetta Rhine, 97, of Osage Beach, Missouri was called to her eternal home on Wednesday November 3, 2021, surrounded by family. She was born in Atlantic, Iowa on January 6, 1924, the daughter of Nels and Hannah Hoegh. She graduated from Atlantic High School and was married to Dr. Melvin Crane for 25 years and was blessed with three children. She married Donald Rhine on August 18, 1973, and enjoyed this new chapter in her life until Don passed away on August 17, 1994. Vernetta was always busy caring for the home and her family. She also enjoyed a variety of occupations from managing business offices to working in the Iowa State legislature. During retirement, Vernetta worked at a ladies' boutique, which was her passion, as she loved helping customers find just the right "outfit "for the occasion. One of her favorite duties was to model new clothing at an occasional fashion show. Vernetta was a lifelong member of various Lutheran Churches. Most recently as a member of First Lutheran Church for the past 50 years. Vernetta was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Luke, ex- husband, Dr. Melvin Crane and husband, Donald Rhine. She is survived by her son, David (Judy) Crane; daughter, JoEllen (Tom) Randall; step- daughter, Carol Knopic; grandchildren, Rachel (Luis) Zuniga, Michael (Lauren) Crane and step-grandchildren, Chad Miller and Stacy Miller. Vernetta so enjoyed being with her 6 great-grandchildren, Caden, Nolan, Ava, Gabriel, Jackson and Adeline. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 8th at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends one hour prior to the service. For those unable to attend the service, it may be viewed live on the Reece Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church or Heartland Humane Society.
