He was born March 5, 1935, at Chelan, the son of Oliver and Bertha (Wagner) Fellows. He attended schools at Chelan and graduated from Chelan High School in 1954. Read More	Vernon Gene Fellows - posted Sep. 15, 2006 Peshastin Vernon Gene Fellows, 71, a nine year resident of Peshastin and formerly of Chelan, died Monday, September 11, 2006, at his home following an extended illness. He was born March 5, 1935, at Chelan, the son of Oliver and Bertha (Wagner) Fellows. He attended schools at Chelan and graduated from Chelan High School in 1954. Vernon served in the U.S. Navy from 1954, until his discharge in 1958. He served at San Deigo, Hawaii, the Philippines and Hong Kong. He served in the Naval Reserve until 1962. He returned to Chelan where he was employed with local apple firms and then was employed with Chelan Box & Mfg. until 1965. On April 4, 1964, he married Helen Harris at Coeur d' Alene, ID. Later they moved to Portland, OR where they resided for thirty-two years. He was employed for a total of thirty-one years with Ash Grove Lime at Portland, where he served as a maintenance person and heavy equipment operator until his retirement. They moved to Peshastin in the Spring of 1997. Vernon was a life-time member of the National Rifle Association. Survivors include his wife, Helen of the home; a son, Mike and his wife, Holly of Marysville; a grandson, Taylor of Marysville; a daughter-in-law, Xioa Le of Portland, OR; five brothers, Don and Virgil, both of Chelan, Gordon of Warden, Ernest of Cashmere, Alvin of Burbank; a sister, Peggy Gordon of Chelan; and many friends. He was preceded in death by two sons, Rodney in 1964, and Matt in 2005. A Tribute Service will take place on Monday, September 18, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at the Graveside at Fraternal Cemetery with Donn Plew officiating. Memorials may be made to Central Washington Hospital Home Health Hospice. Services are under the direction of Precht Rose Chapel, Chelan.
