His home was Kennewick, WA, formerly of Odessa, WA. He was born on May 9, 1926 in Odessa, WA. He married Elaine Portch on June 9, 1946 at Sacred Heart Church in Wilbur, WA. He farmed in Odessa until 1969 and then moved to Lynnwood, WA in August of 1969. He worked for the City of Mountlake Terrace public works department until he retired in 1987. They moved to Kennewick in September of 1998. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elaine (Portch) at the family home; one son, Gary (Sandee); two daughters, Linda (Steve) and Wanda (Jim); nine grandchildren: Tiffany (Sky) and great grandchildren Caleb and Jackson; Stephen (Jonie) and great grandchild, Garrison; Jeremy (Elisa); Julie (Gary) and great grandchildren Madison and Brodie; Kelli; Sarah and fiance Danny; Ginger (Andy) and great grandson Joey and Shaelynn; brother, Donnie; sister Elma and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jared Zeiler, six brothers: Ed, Jake, Fred, Roy, Billy and Sammy; three sisters: Mary King, Rachel Christensen and Viola Lobe and two infant brothers. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 1, 2006 at Christ Lutheran Church in Odessa, WA. Pastor Tim Hauge will officiate. Strate Funeral Home, Davenport, WA, is in charge of arrangements.
