Stedry, a former employee of WJAG radio at Norfolk. Age 61, he died Monday at Brown County Hospital after an illness. Stedry was news editor briefly at the Norfolk radio station and in 1949 became its sales manager. He left that post in the mid 1950s and was associated with radio stations at Laramie, Wyo., Coalinga, Calif., Grand Island and Fremont. He was vice president of radio station KHUB at Fremont for seven years until resigning to return to Norfolk where he was associated with Dover Company Realtors. Stedry was later branch manager of Commercial Federal Savings and Loan outlets at Hartington, Neligh and Ainsworth. He also managed Bricker's office equipment store at Valentine. He was born November 29, 1922, at Pierce, the son of Emil and Clara Stedry. The 1940 Norfolk High School graduate was a radio operator in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He had resided at Ainsworth since 1977. He was a director of the Ainsworth Golf Association and a life member of VFW Post 16, the Ainsworth Elks Lodge, Ainsworth Lions Club and Norfolk American Legion Post. He and Lucille Newman were married Oct. 29, 1977 at Ainsworth. Survivors include his wife of Ainsworth, one daughter, Judy James of Alburquerque, N. M., one son, Robert of Peoria, Ariz., and five grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hoch Funeral Home with visitation from Wednesday until service time. The Rev. William Arnold and Bruce Beebout will officiate. Visitation is also scheduled 2:30 - 4 p.m. Thursday at Howser Mortuary in Norfolk followed by graveside rites by the American Legion at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Norfolk. Memorials have been established for the American Cancer Society and Brown County Hospital. all spelling and punctuation as it appeared in the paper (GH)
