Description	:	Vernon O. Koester was born to his loving parents Otto William and Martha M. (Engelbrecht) Koester of rural Scribner, Dodge County on Sunday February 5, 1939 at West Point, Cuming County Nebraska. Vernon was raised on the Scribner farm that has been in the family for a hundred and thirty-five years. Koester was born to his loving parents Otto William and Martha M. (Engelbrecht) Koester of rural Scribner, Dodge County on Sunday February 5, 1939 at West Point, Cuming County Nebraska. Vernon was raised on the Scribner farm that has been in the family for a hundred and thirty-five years. Vernon attended rural elementary school at district sixty six, he attended Scribner High until he left school to help with the family farm. Vernon was united in marriage to Marian Weber on Sunday February 21, 1960 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Scribner, they were blessed over the years of their marriage with a son and three daughters. In the spring of 1965 Vernon applied anhydrous ammonia to my corn, he was one of the local farmers that used his big tractor to pull the Co-op anhydrous machine. Vernon served as a past member of the rural district twelve school board and on the Scribner Co-op board of directors. Vernon retired in 2003 due to his health. Sadly Vernon passed on Monday March 7, 2011 at the age of 72 years, 1 month, 2 days which does not include his last day, he lived a total of 26,328 days. Vernon's visitation was held at the Scribner Funeral Chapel on Thursday March 10, 2011 from 3p to 8p with the family receiving friends from 6p to 8p, then one hour prior to his funeral service at 2p Friday March 11, 2011 at the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Scribner where he was a member. Vernon was interred in the Scribner Municipal Cemetery. Vernon's information was provided from researching many resources and my memory. This biography was created as an honor to Vernon by a distant relative Loren R. I believe all lives matter, even the lives of those who have passed.
