Description	:	Verinica Johnson was born August 10, 1898 on the old home place, one mile west of Hoisington, where she grew to womanhood. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph P. Johnson. She attended the Hoisington schools and also Mount Carmel in Wichita, she graduated from Hoisington High School with the class of 1917. On October 18, 1921, Veronica was united in the holy bonds of matrimony with Wilfred Marquis, and they made their home in the Hoisington vicinity, She was a life long member of the Catholic Church and was active in the church societies. Johnson. She attended the Hoisington schools and also Mount Carmel in Wichita, she graduated from Hoisington High School with the class of 1917. On October 18, 1921, Veronica was united in the holy bonds of matrimony with Wilfred Marquis, and they made their home in the Hoisington vicinity, She was a life long member of the Catholic Church and was active in the church societies. She was also a member of the Royal Neighbors and was active in community affairs. She was interested in young people, and always gave freely for them. Her greatest joy was to have her nieces and nephews around her. She was a loving and dutiful wife, a good daughter and a kind sister. She had been in failing health for the past six months and entered and entered St.Rose hospital June 21, where she passed away at 12:15 a.m. July 8, 1942, at the age of 43 years, 10 months and 28 days. Surviving are her husband, her father, three sisters, two brothers and several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a hostn of friends.
